I have hope that First Class will blow us all away. It's not gonna be the X-Men we expect, but hopefully it's at least something we enjoy.
Curse of the Mutants had some good moments, especially in the X-Men vs Vampires issues. And the pay off in X-Men #5 was definitely worth all the vamp nonsense IMO.
Given Maggott's reeappearance as part of Selene's "army", I don't know if we're ever gonna see him close to the way he was before. But if Blink can do it, I'm sure Japheth can.
And post more Magneto, OF COURSE :]
I too have hope for X-Men: First Class. That initial photoshop image was awful, but at least Matthew Vaughn acknowledged that it was terrible and a quick job and not intended to be used. But I also read that that was done because the studio has a different opinion about how to market the film than Vaughn and Singer so, that could be interesting. I think it’s interesting that it’s set in the ’60s but again, that could amp up the camp.
I came around on Curse of the Mutants some towards the end, but man oh man do I not like the idea of Jubilee being a vampire. I will go into this in more detail over at my comics review blog 2010 Comics, when the X-Men #6 review goes up.
Everyone, I love Maggott. I love the late ’90s Joe Kelly run in general, and Maggott was a big part of that. Getting him back in the spotlight is a LIFE GOAL of mine.
And I will post some Magneto that ISN’T just me reblogging your awesome tumblr. Yes!
